It has always functioned as a studio, taking up projects, involving study, analysis, exploring visuals, spatial, formal, social and technological ideas and concepts. As architects, we bring the context more than these utilitarian goals; we seek the poetry in the place, the lyrics in the built form and vibrancy in the inhabitant’s life. The entire range of materiality plays a role in our search for beauty.
At Saagaa, the simplest or the most complex can become a design motif. It is not the things that we design, but the transcended experience of the people using them, looking at them or just being in them, which is the essence of our studio.
Two aspiring students pursuing a Bachelor degree in Architecture at the D.Y. Patil College of Architecture, joined hands to form Saagaa Associates in the year 2014. Young, dynamic and creative thinkers at heart, with an eye for detail and a core belief of delivering amazing projects. From conceptualisation to execution, their design philosophy is a blend of contemporary and vernacular. They are fond of exploring new ideas and designs and also experimenting different build materials; which makes their plans more functional, effective and holistic.
